EUROPEAN STARLING

First brought to North America by Shakespeare enthusiasts in the 19th century, European starlings are now among the continent’s most common birds. They are often resented for their abundance and aggressiveness. They are covered in white spots during winter and are glossy black in summer. Ours is French and in winter plumage.
