COYOTE

Coyotes are intelligent, adaptable, and very fast.  They can run over 40 miles per hour.  Coyotes are omnivores and adapt well to urban life.  Their range and population are expanding.  Coyotes mate for life and much prefer other coyotes, but in the absence of a suitable coyote partner, they will mate with domestic dogs or wolves producing viable hybrids.  Genetic studies have shown that almost all North American wolves contain some level of coyote DNA.
