The young female Gorilla name “Jackie” was four years old when she died of natural causes at the St. Louis in 1938. She was preserved by Schwarz Studio Taxidermy of St. Louis. Taxidermist and naturalist Frank Schwarz was one of the founding members of the St. Zoo.
